Michele Terranova, The Terranova Group, Atlanta Georgia, Usability and User Interface Design

Michele Terranova has worked in a vast array of environments, from the operating theater of a brain surgeon to the deck of an aircraft carrier. She has held previous positions as the Director of Human Factors Research at Concord Associates, Inc. and Senior Research Scientist at The Oak Ridge National Laboratory. She has over 20 years experience in Human Factors, User Interface Design, and Market Research.  Michele has been involved in analysis, design, and evaluation of web sites and interactive systems in transportation (public and commercial), finance, communications, retail, medical, entertainment, nuclear, military, and government. She is an experienced manager and a practitioner, with skills in the scientific study of users and their environments.

 

Michele formed The Terranova Group, Inc. in January of 2000.  She holds a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology with a major in Human Factors from Old Dominion University and a B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook. 

 

She also is a Principal of Pipeline Performance Group, a partnership with Mr. Charles Alday. This partnership focuses on human factors consulting.

 

 

  

Lori Ahr is a facilitator in team leadership, communications and product assessment. She has worked extensively in developing programs to enhance leadership and communication in corporations.  She has led leadership programs with companies such as Aflac, CDC, Wilmington Trust, Bellsouth Mobility, Sprint, and Georgia Pacific. 

 

Lori has conducted usability studies with The Terranova Group, Inc. for GALILEO (Georgia Board of Regents), the National Institute of Mental Health (with Pediatricians and Family Practitioners), LG Phones, and with IntegraSys (Requirements study for Human Resource Application for Caribbean Businesses). 

Lori holds a B.S. in Psychology from Florida State University.

 

 

 

Inga Treitler is a cultural anthropologist with over 18 years’ experience in cultural and socio-economic assessments and design related research. She has developed public outreach strategies for several federal agencies and has conducted extensive and innovative research and developed programs for the private sector.  Treitler is a fellow of the Society for Applied Anthropology is certified in Federal Projects and Historic Preservation Law, and is a board member of the Knoxville Writer’s Guild.  Dr. Treitler has traveled and conducted research extensively in the North American Pacific Northwest, throughout Asia, Southeast Asia, Australia, the Caribbean, and Europe.  In August of 2000 Inga joined Michele in the newly formed Terranova Group.  She holds a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a minor in Linguistics, a Master's degree in linguistics from SUNY Stony Brook, and a B.A. in French and Linguistics from Wellesley College.  Inga is conversational in French, German, and Swedish.

 

 

Christine Mattila, The Terranova Group, Atlanta Georgia, Usability and User Interface Design

Christine Mattila has worked for ten years on a variety of projects that benefited from an interdisciplinary approach. This included Technical and Instructional Writing for hard-copy and on-line material, and CBT design and development including instructional design analysis. Christine was a programmer for the U.S. Navy for 5 years. She has also created and managed Web site content and databases.

 

Christine has a Masters in Information Science from the University of South Carolina. She has B.A. in Psychology from USC and an A.S. in Computer Programming.
